Eureka 2008

forging links between designers, retailers and manufacturers

The Eureka Project, supported by the London Development Agency, celebrates the quality of British design and encourages designers, retailers and manufacturers to collaborate and bring new products to market. There are three themes at the heart of Eureka, firstly, that design adds value to everyday objects, secondly, that there is an outstanding pool of creative talent based in Britain and thirdly, it is important to consider the person both in how the consumer interacts with the finished item and by commissioning young and talented businesses.

Celebrating its fifth year at the London Design Festival, Design-Nation presents an impressive line-up of UK retailers, manufacturers and designers, as part of the Eureka 2008. The Eureka products range from furniture to textiles, ceramics and pewter accessories from some of the most progressive names in UK design.

Retailers and manufacturers joining Eureka 2008 include Ercol with James Ryan to produce a furniture collection, Habitat with Margo Selby to produce bedlinen, wall hanging and rug collection, Neville Johnson with Chris Eckersley to produce a dining table set, South Bank Centre Shop with Michelle Mason to produce tote bags and Wentworth with Miranda Watkins to produce a pewter tabletop collection. The success of products from previous years is sure to continue as Eureka shows that good British design can be both accessible and affordable.

The Eureka exhibition runs from 11 - 18 September at The Royal Festival Hall, Southbank Centre, London.
